Actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding.

Follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page.


      Instructional activities (how does this game help develop language acquisition and development, both oral and written, be creative?)

      Students will read the word on the screen, pronouncing each word to decipher familiar beginning consonant sounds.   

      Students will write down each word that have removed from the blocks.  

      If a word appears twice students will write the number 2 after each word that appears twice on the screen. 
          
      Assessment

      Students will be assessed on their ability to pronounce the words on the screen, I will be helping students with pronunciation as needed.  

      Students will be assessed on how easily they are able to clear the word blocks

      Students will be assessed on their penmanship.  
 
      Debriefing
      At the end of this ELA game, students will engage in a discussion about the game. They will be asked to share what words they have written down and will be asked to spell it. Students will be asked to share what they liked about the game or did not like about the game.
 
     What cognitive skills do this game help to cultivate?
     This game will help to build students recall skills on sight words, decoding ability and reading comprehension. This game will help them to also pronounce the words correctly as they are pronounced each time in the game. 

     What new literacies skills do this game help to cultivate 
     This game allows students to get practice using the mouse and computer keypad.
